What they both have in common is that they sound unusual which basically comes from the discordance you hear because the 5th is not a perfect 5th like major or minor chords which we are so used to hearing. They are named mid tempo and up tempo samba groove. Might be fun jamming with those rhythm tracks as it will give you something to bounce off</p>

Can you try experimenting with playing the thumb strokes an inch or two more centrally in the bass so directly over the pickup. That will naturally angle your right arm slightly differently and I&#8217;m wondering if that will feel like the arm and wrist are supporting the thumb better.&hellip;</p>
